Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Diet – Why It Works

When it comes to popular celebrities at the moment, Gal Gadot is one of those at the top of the list (currently!). She has been in countless roles but what really gave her the spotlight is her role as the Daughter of Zeus, Princess of the Amazons, Wonderwoman.

Before her role as Wonderwoman, Gal had a very model-like physique which is lean and skinny. However it was not fit for the role of Wonderwoman so she had to pack in lean muscle in a short amount of time!

A quote Gal told the media about her diet:

“It’s all a matter of measurements and quantity of the food; just enjoy your food and don’t eat while you drive and don’t eat while you talk on your phone. Just give the food the respect and give yourself respect to enjoy it.”

I highly commend her because this is the proper way to diet whether it be for gaining weight or losing fat. You should not restrict yourself but rather focus on the quantity of the foods you eat (whether good or bad). 

  1. First calculate your maintenance calories using a maintenance calorie calculator
  2. Eat more than your maintenance calories = Weight Gain
  3. Eat less than your maintenance calories = Weight loss

Eat whatever you want – It’s all about the quantity of whatever you eat

Whether it is healthy or cookies and pizzas, this rule still applies because your body only sees whatever you put into your bodies as calories. Also, you may eat all your calories in one meal (for breakfast for example) then eat nothing for the rest of the day and you will still lose fat – Just don’t go eating 1000 calories a day.

I recommend eating 500 calories less (if you’re losing weight) or 500 calories more (if you’re gaining weight) than your maintenance calories

Gal Gadot gained more muscle for her role as Wonderwoman

She ate more protein to build muscle in addition to her workouts which include weight training, weighted exercises, and combat training. Her mental fortitude as a combat instructor from the Israeli Forces really helped too!

Gal’s diet was created by her personal trainer, Thomas Bradley and had her focus on her plate comprising of half veggies and the other half being lean protein sources.

As we know, veggies are very fibrous and filling as well as protein being very satiating so she wouldn’t eat more calories than she needs making room for only muscle to grow and not fat which is a struggle for many.

Gal also made sure she drank a gallon of water a day as being dehydrated can cause you to lose 50% of your energy in your workouts. A gallon of water a day really helped her in staying full which allowed her not snack too much.

If ever she did snack on anything, she would not hold back because if you think positively, your snack could aid you in the gym acting as a pre-workout!

The Amazon Training

Her exercises in the gym includes:

1. Rowing movements as a warm-up


Rowing movements are exercises where you are pulling an object using your back muscles such as dumbbell rows, barbell rows, or cable rows. She did this for 3 sets of 10 with 1-2 minutes of rest.

2. Bear Crawls

Bear crawls give you a lot of core stability and balance. Do this for a total range of 30 metres and walk back to where you started then get ready for the next exercise.

3. Pull-ups


Pull-ups are one of the best bodyweight exercises ever as it works numerous muscles in your body but the most important is working your lats. The number of pull ups you can do is a symbol of your overall strength. No matter how big or small you are, pull-ups are a valuable exercise to work on.

If you can’t do a pull-up, keep on hanging on and trying to pull yourself up as many times as possible daily even if you can’t do one then on your 4th or 5th day you’ll be surprised that you can do 2 or 3 and you will be able to do more as you gain strength.

Do this exercise for 7 sets of 3 reps with 1-2 minutes of rest. This will be your main exercise.

4. Burpee Broad Jumps

Feeling the burn yet just thinking about it? Burpee broad jumps is another great exercise which can work your explosive power. No wonder Wonderwoman can jump so far and high! Do these for 30 metres and now for the final exercise.

5. Push Ups


Push ups is an all-in-one exercise for your upper body. Do these for 5 sets of 5 reps with 1-2 minutes of rest then you’re done!

As you can see, these workouts are more functional that weighted which can be very useful when you need to fight Ares the God of War!
